If you have an innovative idea for a project that supports Hong Kong’s international development efforts and shapes its role on the global stage, you can make it happen with this hk prize. This competition is organized by Generocity and will award the winner HK$5,000 to help bring their ideas to life.

The winning team will have the chance to present their ideas to key stakeholders in the development sector, and could even win the second or third prize of HK$2000 or HK$10,000 respectively.

To ensure the fairness of the contest, all entries will be subject to a rigorous screening process and will be inspected by experts. Participants can submit their entries online at the contest website or download the application form. They can also submit their entries through email, video conference and phone.

Among the winners of the 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, often referred to as the “Oscars of Science”, were scientists from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The award honours the HKUST ATLAS Collaboration, which was responsible for the discovery of the Higgs boson – or the God Particle – and continues to look for new physics beyond the Standard Model at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.

This year’s hk prize saw a record number of entries and awards handed out to both individuals and companies. The finalists were chosen by a panel of judges, including industry professionals and representatives from the government and academia. The award ceremony was held at the Victoria Theatre on 27 January.

The Hong Kong Marathon was the 8th edition of this prestigious event and attracted runners from 24 Asian countries and regions. The number of runners has exceeded 13,000, an all-time high in the event’s history. The Standard Chartered Bank topped up the prize money of this year’s race to US$100,000. The winning male and female marathoners will each receive an engraved gold medal and a prize worth HK$25,000. Interested Fellows may apply for this prize by submitting their published full article and a separate blinded abstract to the Academy before 31 August. Applicants must be principal authors and have been awarded the Academy Fellowship within the past 10 years.
